Due to inflation, the German Employment Center is reviewing financial assistance for the unemployed. These changes will also affect Ukrainian refugees.

Refugees from Ukraine in Germany already receive financial assistance. Starting in 2023, the amount of payments to those who need it is planned to increase.
Ukrainians who need financial support will receive 50 euros more.

Who can get money and how much
single adults or single parents – 502 euros (currently they receive 449 euros);
the rest of the adult Ukrainians – 451 euros (currently they receive 404 euros);
children aged 14 to 17 years – 420 euros (now – 376 euros);
children aged 6 to 13 years – 348 euros (now – 311 euros);
children under 5 years old – 318 euros (now – 285 euros).
The rate of payments to refugees in Germany is planned to be adjusted from January 1, 2023 due to inflation.
Changes for those who has status
Ukrainian refugees who received help to find housing in the spring of 2022 have received a new legal status since June 1, 2022. They were covered by Hartz IV basic unemployment benefits. It is appointed by the Employment Center (Jobcenter).

It is noted that Germany will review the amount of unemployment benefits for local residents. Citizens of Ukraine who have the status of temporary protection will also be subject to these changes.
